Entertainment impresario Opa Williams has paid an emotional tribute to his late wife, Reverend Patricia, as he marked what would have been her 60th birthday.
Patricia died on September 28, 2023, leaving Opa heartbroken. The Nigerian “comedy merchant” and founder of the Nite of a Thousand Laughs franchise later relocated to Kenya, where he has been expanding his entertainment empire.
On Wednesday, Opa remembered his “priceless Jewel” on Facebook and relived the plans they made for her milestone birthday.
“Today the event planner would have been preparing the venue. We should have stormed the church for thanksgiving service and given out six scholarships to mark your 60th birthday,” he wrote.
“We planned a groundbreaking event today for the church to be built in the village where we would retire. We planned, amongst other things, that we would share our old age together and behave like when we first met 40 years ago. We planned, but God being the giver and taker of life had the supreme plan. Happy 60th birthday my First Lady. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
The heartfelt post has reopened unhealed wounds for Opa Williams, as fans and colleagues continue to send condolences three years after Patricia’s passing.
