The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, has hailed entrepreneur and technology leader, Olubukola Moyo Babajide, following her appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire, MBE, by King Charles III.
Babajide, founder of Crystal Options Ltd. and Female Techpreneur, was named on the King’s Birthday Honours List for her contributions to technology, business and inclusion in the UK and beyond.
NiDCOM Chairman/CEO, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the honour was a well-deserved recognition of excellence, innovation and impactful leadership that brings pride to Nigeria and the global Nigerian diaspora.
“Bukola Babajide’s recognition with the MBE is a testament to the resilience, brilliance, and positive impact of Nigerians across the world,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
“Through her work in technology, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for greater inclusion, she has demonstrated the values of hard work, innovation, and service that continue to distinguish Nigerians globally,” she added.
The NiDCOM boss noted that the award underscored the significant contributions Nigerians abroad are making in their fields, driving economic growth, technological advancement and social development while maintaining strong ties with Nigeria.
She commended Babajide, an alumna of Moremi High School, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, for serving as a role model to young Nigerians, particularly women and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Dabiri-Erewa expressed confidence that the honour would inspire more Nigerians in the diaspora to continue contributing positively to their communities and to Nigeria’s development, and wished Babajide continued success in her future endeavours.
