ABAKALIKI — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside members of the party’s National Working Committee, on Monday led a high-powered delegation to Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, for a rally endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The rally, held at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, attracted several political heavyweights, including Governor Hope Uzodimma, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Minister of Works David Umahi, Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ossai, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, among others.
Welcoming the delegation, Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Santely Okoro-Emegha, declared that the state is firmly under the APC, adding that the rally was to demonstrate overwhelming support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
He pledged that Ebonyi would deliver 100 percent votes across all local government areas in support of the President.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, said the entire South-East was increasingly aligned with President Tinubu’s administration, describing ongoing federal projects in the region as evidence of inclusion and development focus.
He also highlighted major infrastructure projects in Ebonyi State, including a federal road project valued at N445 billion.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State said he attended the event in solidarity with the Ebonyi State Governor, noting that although he belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he supports progressive governance and development initiatives across the country.
Soludo added that his visit to Ebonyi was nostalgic, recalling his earlier years spent in the state where his father worked at the Nigercem Cement Company in Nkalagu.
The event, which featured prominent political figures from across party lines, was described as a show of growing political alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
