Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan delivered another statement performance on the Diamond League circuit by winning the opening heat of the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday.
The former world champion crossed the line in an impressive 12.39 seconds in legal wind conditions of +0.4m/s, comfortably securing victory and underlining her strong form ahead of the final.
Amusan produced a composed and technically polished display, pulling clear over the closing stages to finish ahead of a quality field in the French capital.
The Netherlands’ Nadine Visser finished second in a season’s best time of 12.44 seconds, while Jamaican national champion Demisha Roswell placed third in 12.46 seconds.
The result continues an encouraging run of performances for Amusan as she builds momentum during the 2026 athletics season and strengthens her bid for another Diamond League title.
The Nigerian sprint hurdler will now be aiming to carry her impressive form into the final as she targets another podium finish on one of athletics’ biggest stages.
